PE-FITTING for Pro/ENGINEER ®
PE-FITTING is an auxiliary application for Pro/ENGINEER to transfer component placement data from
circuit board layout-systems to Pro/ENGINEER. The 3D-components from a layout system can be
exported and placed in an Pro/E assembly with the help of coordinate systems.
Export with PE-FITTING
The placement coordinates of the components in the layout system are written to a file using a
layout system specific macro. For this purpose the xy-position, the rotation angle, the placement
side and the name of the component will be analyzed.
Placement of components
In Pro/ENGINEER's assembly mode the file is analyzed and the components are placed. Missing library
components are substituted by dummies. There is the possibility of collision control in
Pro/ENGINEER.
Requirements
- The circuit board requires defined reference planes
(PE-TRONIC circuit board)
- Every Pro/E library element requires a defined system of coordinates
Layout-Systems
Currently PE-FITTING is available for Integra Station of Mentor Graphics. The support of additional
circuit board layoutsystems is planned.
