PE-QCHECK for Pro/ENGINEER
®
Check CAD models against standards and design guidelinesEvery company defines specific
standards and design guidelines for its assemblies, parts and drawings. PE-QCHECK for Pro/ENGINEER
checks the compliance with these specifications in the design process. As a consequence it ensures
CAD data quality and compatibility with the subsequent process chain. An automatic correction
option for guideline violations is available.
PE-QCHECK is directly integrated into the user interface of Pro/ENGINEER and checks the
active object. If the active model is an assembly or drawing, all submodels can be checked as well.
The test results are shown in a separate window. They are presented in form of an overview list
with check type, result number and classification of the results (error, warning or information).
By choice of a result category, the individual results are listed in detail. By selecting a single
result, the selected element can be highlighted in Pro/ENGINEER. In most cases violated check
criteria can be automatically corrected.

The check results are saved in form of an encrypted quality stamp as a model parameter and
are components of the design process. As a result of the encryption, the quality stamp cannot be
changed manually. The quality stamp can be checked by using triggers in Pro/INTRALINK 3 or using
events in PDMLink. This way the encrypted quality stamp can be used as a Quality Gate for the
different steps of the design process.
The configuration of the checks is done by a configuration file in XML format. A resut class
(error, warning or information) can be assigned to each check criterion.
