PCT is a web-based tool for project controlling. Therefore it makes the current information
easily available to the project manager and his team members and provides information about all
running projects within an organization to the management.

PCT provides the following modules and functions:
- Project master data with project structure mapping together with subprojects and work
packages
- Input of planning costs, time periods, deadlines, etc.
- Common master data, for e.g. hourly rates, cost rates, teams, suppliers, etc.
- User administration with role based authentication within the project structure
- Resource allocation for projects, subprojects and work packages
- Activity recording at the project structure level with recording and release functions
- Validity check for all achievements
- Resource planning at the project structure level
- Project or organization wide reporting of resources, costs, budgets, capacities, utilization,
etc.
- Import functions for project costs and performances from other systems
- SAP interface for "productisation" of activities
- Multitenancy capability
- User administration and authentication with LDAP
PCT has been developed as a pure browser solution with a multi-tier-architecture in Java.
Therefore a software installation at the client level is not required. Different browsers will be
supported by the use of Standard-HTML. At the moment Oracle is used as database, but other
databases with SQL standard are also supported.
The access can occur about both Internet and Intranet, and this is important for shared
project teams. All access from the internet takes place using HTTPS and therefore the data is
