PI-AUTOPURGE for Pro/INTRALINK ®
Automated Purging in Pro/I
PI-AUTOPURGE is an auxiliary application for versions in Pro/INTRALINK. Deletion of the versions is
performed depending on the Release Level and is executed automatically during promotion of the
object. The promoted object version is transferred to the next Release Level. All object versions
from the Source Release Level are analyzed and existing revisions are determined. Then, the highest
Revision of each Object Version from the Source Release Level is determined. These objects will be
promoted to a configurable Release Level (e.g. Invalid) to document the stages of development. All
remaining object versions are deleted. Thus, all important steps taken during development are
documented and all unnecessary versions are deleted.
Contrary to Pro/INTRALINK's purge functionality PI-AUTOPURGE only removes unnecessary object
versions of an object when its stage of development changes. Global purging of the whole
Commonspace is not necessary any more. All object versions of a certain stage in development are
maintained until a change of this stage is performed. Only the objects that are currently promoted
are considered by the purge.

PI-AUTOPURGE is available for all current Pro/ENGINEER and Pro/INTRALINK versions running on most
popular platforms (UNIX/Windows).
