PI-PLOT for Pro/INTRALINK
®
Automatic Creation of Plots from DrawingsPI-PLOT is an auxiliary application for
Pro/INTRALINK that automatically creates a plot file and an attribute file of a drawing after its
state has changed (e.g. release of the drawing). The attributes to be exported are configurable and
may be attributes from drawings as well as from Pro/INTRALINK. The plot format is also adjustable
and may be chosen from any of the plot formats available in Pro/ENGINEER.

PI-PLOT (see fig. 1) consists of the following components:

PI-PLOT-Trigger
PI-PLOT-trigger is a customer specific trigger application that responds to certain events,
e.g. a change of the release level to released for manufacturing. After such an event this trigger
sends a plot request to the PI-PLOT server, who then handles all necessary actions.

PI-PLOT Server
The PI-PLOT-server (see fig. 2) receives the plot request from the Pro/INTRALINK client and
handles the checkout of the necessary drawings, including all required objects, to a local
workspace. The PI-PLOT-server may be either run on a separate machine, on the computer of the
Pro/INTRALINK user, or on a Pro/INTRALINK file server, respectively meta data server. When all
objects necessary for plotting are available, the plot and attribute file of the drawing is
generated by PE-PLOT and Pro/ENGINEER.

PE-PLOT
PE-PLOT is an auxiliary Pro/TOOLKIT application for Pro/ENGINEER that automatically
generates plot files. PE-PLOT also supports multi paged drawings and allows a user defined
configuration of the export file name. PE-PLOT is integrated into PI-PLOT.
PI-PLOT incorporates Pro/INTRALINK and Pro/ENGINEER into company wide information systems and
acts as an interface to systems for product planning, document management and filing. Besides the
standard interface, PI-PLOT can also be integrated via customer specific direct interfaces.
Supported Hard- and Software:PI-PLOT is available for all current Pro/ENGINEER and
Pro/INTRALINK versions running on most popular platforms (UNIX/Windows).
