PI-REPLICATE for Pro/INTRALINK ®
Package Replication between Pro/I Commonspaces
PI-REPLICATE automates offline replication for Pro/INTRALINK and supports the replication of
physical files as well as the synchronization of metadata between Pro/INTRALINK commonpaces.
Objects can be replicated between databases with different configurations, builds, versions and
language settings, offering superior flexibility.
PI-REPLICATE has two main components, a controller that controls and automates replication, and an
export and import tool, that extracts replication data from Pro/INTRALINK and integrates them into
the replication target. Moreover, the controller manages the synchronization process for changed
metadata, which has e.g. been created by renaming, changing release levels, changing non versioned
attributes, etc. This requires unique identification of all objects, apart from the object name.
These object IDs are assigned to objects by the controller. Core functionality of PI-REPLICATE
includes folder based management of rights, regulating the right of ownership of objects. When
transferring right of ownership from one Commonspace to another one, the controller automatically
moves the objects to the respective folders at all sites.
PI-REPLICATE is controlled by the controller only; no client based triggers are involved.
Installation, implementation and operation do not have any effect towards the user and his
workflow. Adaptation and integration of existing customer specific triggers is thus avoided.
Replication objects can be defined by toplevel objects, or by specifying folders. All required
depending objects are automatically determined and, if necessary, replicated. Missing folders in
the replication target are automatically created by PI-REPLICATE.
Supported Hard- and Software:
PI-REPLICATE is based on Pro/INTRALINK Toolkit and is available for all 3.x Releases of
Pro/INTRALINK running on most popular platforms (UNIX/Windows).
