- Fast, precise, reliable
Automated wall thickness testing with SF WALLCHECK
Recognising critical wall thicknesses early on
Recognise critical wall thicknesses and clearances before problems become expensive. Faster, safer, more efficient: For error-free design and short development times.
SF WALLCHECK automates the checking of critical wall thicknesses and clearances in 3D components and assemblies directly within PTC Creo. This eliminates the need for time-consuming manual analyses of complex geometries. Designers immediately receive a reliable assessment of the model quality and can recognise and correct potential problem areas at an early stage.
The analysis is surface-based and independent of the measuring point grid, which means that even complex geometries can be precisely evaluated. In addition to native Creo models, both solid and surface models as well as common import formats such as STEP or IGES are supported. Distances between components within assemblies can also be checked.
SF WALLCHECK is based on VDA guideline 4955 and fulfils the automotive industry's requirements for product data quality (PDQ) in accordance with SASIG and VDA. Companies can thus ensure that defined design guidelines are reliably adhered to and documented.
- Advantages of SF WALLCHECK
Rapid development
Early fault detection
High product quality
Intuitive operation
- Analysis & documentation
Wall thickness check directly in the CAD model
Precise wall thickness analysis for safe constructions
With the area-based wall thickness analysis, you can reliably check your CAD models for under- and overruns of defined wall thickness areas - regardless of the measuring point grid. This gives you precise and consistent results that allow you to reliably assess the component geometry.
The analysis supports both solid and surface models as well as common exchange formats such as STEP and IGES. With native Creo models, thread areas are also automatically taken into account. This allows potential manufacturing problems to be identified at an early stage and designs to be optimised in a targeted manner.
Flexible analysis for different CAD data
Wall thickness analysis can be used in a variety of ways - both for individual components and for complex assemblies.
- Analysing solid and surface models as well as STEP and IGES geometries
- Automatic consideration of threads in native Creo models
- Batch analysis and distance check in assemblies for efficient project processing
Show results in the 3D model
Analyse and navigate results
Document test results
All test results can be classified, commented on and permanently saved in the model. Categories such as error or warning support a structured evaluation of the analysis.
In addition, SF WALLCHECK automatically creates PDF reports with graphical representation, wall thickness values and comments. This allows test results to be documented transparently and used further in the development process.

General questions about SF WALLCHECK
For which models can SF WALLCHECK be used?
SF WALLCHECK supports native models from PTC Creo as well as solid and surface models. In addition, common import formats such as STEP or IGES can be analysed. Assemblies can also be checked, including the distances between individual components.
How exactly is the wall thickness tested?
The analysis is area-based and independent of a measuring point grid. This means that even complex geometries can be reliably inspected. With native Creo models, critical geometries such as threads are also taken into account.
Do I need any special prior knowledge?
No. An integrated configuration wizard supports beginners in setting up the test parameters. Experienced designers can alternatively use a quick direct configuration.
How are the results documented?
All test results can be saved, classified and commented on. In addition, SF WALLCHECK automatically generates PDF reports with a graphical representation of the wall thicknesses and all relevant analysis values.
Which standards are supported?
SF WALLCHECK is based on VDA guideline 4955 and fulfils the requirements of the automotive industry for product data quality in accordance with SASIG and VDA.
Which CAD versions is WALLCHECK for Creo compatible with?
WALLCHECK for Creo is available for the current and supported versions of PTC Creo, PTC Creo Elements/Pro and Pro/ENGINEER. This means that WALLCHECK can be used in the current and officially supported versions of these CAD systems.
