ReDiMon - SF research project
Our latest successfully completed research project!
Aim of the project „Realistic digital models for assembly systems“ (ReDiMon) was to map the current status of production plants transparently. Funded by the Bavarian collaborative research programme, we were able to develop a new system together with the Institute for Machine Tools and Industrial Management at the Technical University of Munich (iwb), and the companies Conti Temic microelectronic and mts Consulting drive this project forward.
Although digital models are usually created when planning a system, they are often not regularly updated afterwards for cost reasons. During operation, they no longer correctly represent the real condition, which has been modified due to changes and wear.
The adaptation of the model should therefore be largely automated. To this end, the model was continuously compared and updated with the process data analysed by artificial intelligence and with a 3D capture of the actual system configuration.
This means that decisions regarding maintenance, troubleshooting or reconfiguration can be made on a more informed basis in future. Unwanted downtimes of the production plant, as well as the planning effort, are minimised.
