..that Software Factory developed a MES/SCADA system for a manufacturer of gas generators for airbag systems using Java in 1999. The system was first used throughout the German sites to allow for a flexible configuration of the products – with all product and quality specific parameters, and without any software changes or manual configuration in the controllers. The initial functional scope of this solution would be called Industry 4.0 today. Today, this solution is being run on approx. 80 assembly lines, produces 80 million gas generators per year and, after more than 20 years, has probably now produced more than 1 billion gas generators, saving many lifes.

Research Project MC Sandwich: DONE!

SF Research Project

In the MC-Sandwich research project, project partners addressed the increasingly important resource-saving design of component parts. Shortening the complex production chain of sandwich composites was prioritized in order to optimize use of these lightweight structures.
Software Factory developed design methods for the assemblies, and performed FEM analyses to verify the specified product requirements in the model. Learn more about our research projects on our website!
