1992-2017. Software Factory looks back to 25 successful years. For that reason, we invited our partners to our “birthday party”, the day of digital transformation. Our guests attended various presentations and were able to experience digital transformation live in our large exhibition area. In the end, the day of digital transformation ended with a celebratory evening event.
Right on time for our 25th anniversary, we moved into our new offices in Parkring 57-59. Our anniversary celebration therefore also became an inauguration event for our new rooms. The additional room we gain will be used for more modern working concepts. Next to the open environment of the new office, a maker space will be established and our employees will be able to utilize our new roof terrace as a recreation area. On the day of digital transformation out guests were able to catch a first impression of all these new areas. In our foyer, all guests were asked to sign our birthday canvas which will remind us of this great event for a long time.
The topics of the presentations were very diverse. All aspects of digitization, from Software Factory’s history and mobility of the future to the very important but underestimated topic of IT security in a digitized world, were covered. Apart from our CEOs Dr. Andreas Gallasch, Dr. Rainer Stetter and Thomas Trägler, numerous guests from industries and research shared their knowledge in interesting presentations. The Neben unseren Geschäftsführern Dr. Andreas Gallasch, Dr. Reiner Stetter und Thomas Trägler waren auch zahlreiche Gastredner aus Industrie und Forschung mit Präsentationen vor Ort. The transition to the evening event was started with a discussion on digitization with representatives from 4 generations moderated by Paul Kho.
To present digital transformation in the most descriptive way, a huge part of our new office consisted of an exhibition area with booths and demonstrators. Next to the booths of the guests who held speeches and a demonstrator on the topic of digital twins by the Finnish company Mevea Simulation Solutions, Software Factory also presented various IoT demonstrators. With our LEGO demonstrator we showed the digitization of production lines and our bobcat demo we first presented at Hannover Messe 2017 was used as an example for surveillance opportunities offered by IoT. For the very first time we also had our “Skill Crane 4.0“, which was digitized by students of the FH Technikum Wien, in place. This demonstrator is supposed to show how existing machines can still be digitized using thingworx.
Our evening event was opened by our special guests Prof. Dr. Wolfgang A. Herrmann, president of Technische Universität München (TUM), Dr. Dietmar Gruchman, mayor of the city of Garching as well as the CEO of Business Campus München Garching, Michael Blaschek. With all of them, Software Factory experienced huge milestones in the company’s history. The company was founded in 1992 as a spin-off at TU München. Garching and Business Campus have been a home for Software Factory for almost 10 years now. After years of growth we now move to our new offices within Business Campus.
Like every birthday party also the day of digital transformation ended with a big celebration. In addition to the guests who had already attended the presentations before, many more partners and friends, who were only able to celebrate 25 years SF with us in the evening, joined us. With great food from the buffet and music from our awesome band we raised our glasses on many more years of successful collaboration.
As a special souvenir, we developed our own SF ThingMarks equipped with several AR experiences using thingworx. Using them, all guests of our event will be able to remember the day of digital transformation and to show the opportunities of augmented reality to friends and colleagues. A great approach to demonstrate digitization in a descriptive and fascinating way!
